New Mass for Abbey’s 450th celebrations

Bell Mass by one of Britain’s pre-eminent composers, Julian Anderson, which was commissioned by the Dean & Chapter of Westminster as part of the celebrations to mark the 450th anniversary of the Abbey's Collegiate Charter receives its first performance at the Abbey on Tuesday 29th June at 5.00pm.

Various members of Edward Hyde, Earl of Clarendon's family are buried with him in a vault in the north ambulatory, near Henry VII's chapel.

Edward I and Eleanor of Castile
Edward and Eleanor's coronation took place on 19th August 1274. Both are buried in St Edward's chapel in Westminster Abbey and Eleanor has a fine effigy.

Philanthropist
Mildred Cecil, Lady Burghley and her daughter Anne Vere, Countess of Oxford have a large monument in St Nicholas' chapel. Richard Cecil, Lord Burghley's father, is buried in St Margaret's Church.
