The Abbey Choir and musicians

The Abbey’s centuries-old musical tradition is maintained by our world-famous choir of men and boys and our four organists.

The Choir

Resident throughout most of the year, the Choir of Westminster Abbey sings the daily services in the Abbey, as it has since its foundation in the late fourteenth century. Today the Choir has a worldwide reputation which also encompasses its concerts, recordings and broadcasts.

Organist and Master of the Choristers Andrew Nethsingha is the Abbey’s Director of Music and the principal conductor of the Abbey Choir.

The choristers

The choristers are all drawn from our unique Choir School. They come from all walks of life and enjoy an outstanding education alongside an incredible range of musical opportunities.

The organists

The Sub-Organist, Assistant Organist and Organ Scholar play the organ for the daily services and assist in conducting the Choir and training the choristers.
